The Search That Sparked a New Beginning
At Nova Montessori, our journey began with a heartfelt search for the right learning environment for our own child. Like many parents, we were excited about the idea of school, yet anxious about the transition. However, as we visited numerous schools in our city, we found that most followed a one-size-fits-all model with little understanding of young children’s unique developmental needs. Many focused more on preparing children for the next grade rather than on nurturing their curiosity and natural growth. We were also concerned by the growing reliance on screens in early education, despite extensive research showing the importance of real, hands-on experiences and meaningful human interaction for young learners.
Our Story with Montessori

During this search, we discovered the Montessori approach—a philosophy based on careful observation of how children naturally learn. The more we learned, the more we understood why authentic Montessori education has become a respected alternative to conventional schooling around the world. Rather than directing children, Montessori advocates following the child—observing their interests, readiness, and individual pace, and supporting their inherent desire to learn.
Inspired by this philosophy and driven by the belief that children deserve education that truly nurtures their potential, we set out to create a school that faithfully embodies Montessori principles. While Montessori education has been present in India for decades, we observed that many schools labelled as “Montessori” applied only fragments of the method and left out essential components like mixed-age classrooms and uninterrupted work cycles.

Passion became the journey
Research today reinforces what Montessori educators have long understood: the first six years of a child’s life play a critical role in shaping who they become. As parents, we felt deeply that offering our daughter a learning environment that supported her holistic development during these formative years would be one of the most meaningful gifts we could give her. We envisioned a space that didn’t merely talk about these values, but truly lived them every day.

Today, Nova Montessori stands with pride as the first Montessori preschool in Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad)—a responsibility we carry with integrity, authenticity, and a commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
